Abstract collagraphy print with soft blue and coral botanical forms by Mētra Drulle.

Cycle of collagraphy “Fertility”

Fertility is a large-scale collagraphy cycle created in 2016, comprising monotype prints on light sand -coloured paper, each measuring 100 × 70 cm. Each opus carries its own palette and mood while remaining part of a coherent whole.

The series is a meditative exploration of nature’s most primal force – the capacity to create and sustain life. Through the tactile richness of the collagraphy technique, the works evoke the raw elements of the natural world: seeds holding the promise of growth, the dark depth of soil, the flow of water, and the vivid spectrum of color that signals life in bloom. Each print is unique, carrying the spontaneity and irreproducibility of the monotype process.

At the heart of this cycle lies a deep reverence for nature – its quiet cycles, its abundance, and the quiet miracle that unfolds when earth, water, and light converge.

I admire nature, the force of birth and live. The seeds, colors, soil, water and miracle.
